Where to Find Chiang Mai's Best Cafes

Coffee in Chiang Mai is a big deal, and it’s as much about the beans as it is about the experience of sitting down in a carefully decorated cafe and snapping the perfect shot for Instagram. While you can grab a latte from just about any corner in the city these cafes stand out for their terrific treats and wow-factor.

This kitschy and colourful café is located near Wat Phra Singh which anchors the Sunday Walking Street to the west in the Old City. The cosy vibe of My Secret Secret Café in Town extends to the delicious pastries, which have a very homemade feel. While they have a varied lunch menu, you should definitely save room for the Oreo brownies and s’mores cupcakes.

Serve breakfasts, waffles, salads, noodles, toasties, sandwiches and a variety of delicious home baked goods. To boot we have a huge array of hot & cold drinks and a fully stocked bar. Live music by local musicians every Tuesday night from 7:30pm.

Open Daily 10:00 - 22:00

Offering a bit more seating room than the original Ristr8to just around the corner on Nimmanhaemin, Ristr8to holds up the café’s reputation for serious cups of coffee and elegant latte art. Each cup of coffee is roasted, ground, and expressed to perfection, and served with a flourish. If coffee isn’t for you, this café starts serving alcohol in the late afternoon and takes on more of a bar vibe. Popular with students and laptop-toting digital nomads, seating may be hard to come by, but Ristr8to Lab is well worth a stop for one of the best espresso coffees in town.

Open 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., closed Tuesdays.
